Cascading Programme

Generations For Peace Pioneers are part of a network of like-minded individuals around the world enabling them to implement Generations For Peace programmes. The established targets for each Pioneer, likewise the ones for the delegates, represent cascading in action - the number of people involved in programmes grows exponentially as one person trains 20 trainers, who in turn train each 20 more, making 400 trainers, and then 8000, and so on.

By 2014, the target is to have 6,000 youth leaders trained (Generations For Peace Pioneers) and up to 250,000 children from all sides of their divides participating in Generations For Peace programmes. Already over 62,000 children have been involved in peace-through-sport activities and more than 4,200 leaders of youth trained.

To achieve this overall target, Generations For Peace is offering more administrative, technical and financial support then ever before.

The number of mentoring hours donated by Generations For Peace staff and experts to support delegates and Pioneers in implementation of their programmes has considerably increased over the years.

The support also comes from the partners: individuals, donors, commercial partners, local or international non-governmental organisations, governmental agencies.

The most remarkable support however comes from those who generously offer their time and skills as volunteers: our delegates and Pioneers and those in their community including parents, teachers, community based organisations, local businesses and community leaders.
