18 April 2016 – Amman, Jordan: Generations For Peace, the Jordan-based global peace-building organisation, has today become a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network.
The Anna Lindh Foundation Network is an inter-governmental institution bringing together over 4,000 civil society organisations involved in the promotion of intercultural dialogue across Europe and the Mediterranean to build trust and improve mutual understanding. The scope of the Network is wide-ranging and includes intercultural relations, religion, research, human rights, democracy and community development, the arts, youth and education, gender, and media.
Generations For Peace will share and exchange knowledge and best practice with the Anna Lindh Foundation Network to promote dialogue and overcome prejudices and stereotypes which affect relations between and within societies in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The two organisations will work together to find common ground between different cultures, enabling communities to embrace diversity and coexistence.
Zina Ishaq-Nimri, Head of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network in Jordan, based at the the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies in Amman, said: “I am delighted to welcome Generations For Peace as our newest member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Network. The Network will draw upon the impressive knowledge and experience which Generations For Peace has developed in effective youth-led programming to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship and to address local issues of conflict and violence. We look forward to collaborating with Generations For Peace in Jordan and the wider region to support intercultural dialogue and peace building.”
