11 June 2014 – Amman, Jordan: Generations For Peace Inc. has been officially granted charitable tax exempt status in the USA as a 501 (c)(3) organisation following a decision by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The decision ensures that all donations, made by individuals and organisations in the US, are tax deductible.

Generations For Peace is a Jordan-based global non-profit organisation founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, dedicated to sustainable peace building and conflict transformation through sport, arts, advocacy, dialogue and empowerment. Generations For Peace believes in working at the grass roots, supporting youth to build on local strengths to help communities transform themselves into tolerant peaceful societies.

The decision opens the door for new and rewarding opportunities for potential donors and partners in the US to support over 8,500 Generations For Peace volunteers working in 50 countries and territories in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Founder and Chairman of Generations For Peace Inc. highlighted the importance of the decision: “This agreement will see Generations For Peace’s engagement with US partners and donors go from strength to strength. The continued hard work of our inspirational Generations For Peace volunteers is making a real impact in the sport and development community and this will enable us to provide even more support for their efforts.”

Generations For Peace has also been awarded “Gold” status – the highest possible – by the GuideStar Exchange. This is a leading symbol of transparency and accountability. The GuideStar Exchange is an initiative designed to connect non-profits with current and potential supporters, and the award of Gold status highlights the transparency and good governance for which Generations For Peace is known.

Generations For Peace Inc. was launched in July 2013 with the purpose of increasing donor engagement and fundraising in the USA to support Generations For Peace’s global network of volunteer leaders of youth.
