Programmes Officer – Protection, Gender and Inclusion
Aysha joined Generations For Peace in March 2021 as a Programmes Officer-Protection. In this role, she is responsible for supporting the management of various GFP programmes within the Protection, Gender, and Inclusion thematic clusters.
Aysha is of Jordanian-Palestinian descent and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Work from Al Yarmouk University. She is an avid volunteer, with experience serving as a Translator and Editor, English Teacher, and Interpreter.
Aysha has extensive experience within the Humanitarian and Development sectors. Before joining GFP, she worked with IRC as a Child Protection Case Worker and with UNHCR as a Senior Child/SGBV Protection Assistant and Senior Resettlement Assistant within Zaatari Camp as well as the Rukban and Hadalat border. Aysha has also worked with UNRWA as an Emergency Relief Services Assistant and with ActionAid as a Protection and Campaign Coordinator. She is proud of the time she spent working at the Syrian border, providing child protection services to vulnerable children stuck between Syria and Jordan.
Aysha is an active member of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, which aims to protect Jordan’s environment. In her spare time, she enjoys learning new languages, playing chess, and travelling around Jordan and exploring its history.
