Senior Programmes Officer

Dima joined Generations For Peace in February 2020 as the Senior Programmes Officer of the Nashatati Programme in Jordan. In this role, she oversees the management of the programme, including leading on the programme design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation, in order to maximise positive change and sustainable impact in local communities. She also develops grant proposals and reports for donors and partners in order to ensure the sustainability of the programme.

Dima is of Palestinian descent and lives in Jordan. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Architecture from the University of Jordan. Her passion of sport, especially badminton, has greatly impacted and steered her life. Dima has been a part of the Jordanian National Badminton team since she was 18 years old, which has given her the chance to represent Jordan throughout numerous international competitions. She believes sport plays a crucial role in the empowerment of youth.

Dima’s passion and belief of sport has led her to speak about its power in a number of humanitarian conferences around the world, including the Sport for Social Change Conference in Brazil, the World Badminton Federation Annual Forum in China, and the 2018 Laureus Sport for Good Summit in Los Angeles, California, USA. In addition to these accomplishments, Dima has over 6 years of progressive responsibility in Humanitarian and Post-Emergency Development roles both in Jordan and abroad in Iraq and Myanmar.

In her free time, Dima manages the Shuttlers Jordan Badminton Academy, an academy she opened herself in order to promote the popularity of badminton in Jordan.
