Faris Bani Malhem
Programmes Administrative Officer
Faris joined Generations For Peace in March 2018 as the organisation’s Programmes Administration Officer. He is responsible for providing administrative, operational, and information management assistance to the Programmes Director via logistical support and coordination with relation to all local and international programmes.
Growing up, Faris participated in MUN, in addition to a range of other community activities, throughout his high school years. He was also a committed education volunteer at SOS Jordan, where he taught Tawjihi students while working in the private sector. Soon after, Faris decided to focus on NGOs and dedicate his work to the betterment of local and international communities, which inspired his interest in working with GFP.
While he was born and raised in Jordan, Faris spent much of his time studying and living in Canada, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from McGill University in Montreal. His time in Canada has shaped his outlook and goals in terms of youth: he aims to reflect on them what he experienced abroad in terms of freedom of speech, acceptance of others, and commitment to peace.
Faris firmly believes that the best gift you can give to others is to coach them on how to deal with surrounding challenges and conflicts through a constructive manner, and create bright horizons for their common future. When he is not working, you can find him doing CrossFit, listening to music, reading books, hiking in the summer, hanging out with friends, and enjoying life.
