Faten joined Generations For Peace in December 2019 as a Programmes Officer. In this role, she supports the implementation and management of the Resilient Youth, Socially and Economically Empowered (RYSE) Programme, led by a consortium of NGOs to engage and empower young Jordanians and Syrian refugees. Her role entails contributing to the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes as well as liaising directly with donors, partners, and volunteers to ensure the success of the programme.
Originally from Jordan, Faten has been an avid volunteer since she was 17 years old. She continued to volunteer throughout her undergraduate career at The Hashemite University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.
Before joining GFP, Faten held a number of positions with the Norwegian Refugee Council, including Youth Programme Technical Assistant and Youth Programme Officer in Zaatari Camp, which allowed her to work closely with youth and adults in both Syrian refugee camps and Jordanian host communities. She also worked as a Youth Programme Team Leader and Livelihood “Employment” Programme Technical Officer in northern Jordan. Not only did these experiences provide Faten the opportunity to be a part of many diverse teams, they also developed her leadership and technical skills.
Faten is a self-proclaimed social butterfly and lover of food. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, learning new languages, cooking, and eating new foods.
