Maysam joined Generations For Peace in January 2020 as a Programmes Officer. In this role, she supports the implementation and management of GFP’s first code-based peacebuilding programme, Code for Jordan. Her responsibilities include leading on the monitoring and evaluation of the programme, ensuring positive communication with donors and partners, and contributing to reports, proposals, and presentations for donors and partners as well as GFP’s Board and General Assembly.
Originally from Jordan, Maysam earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Jordan. She was also awarded by the Ministry of Education in 2008 after graduating from high school with a total percentage of 96.6%, ranking her second in Jordan. She credits this success to her ability to find a perfect balance between her volunteer work and her academic studies.
Maysam has over five years of experience working with regional and international non-governmental organisations in the area of youth development. Before joining GFP, Maysam worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant with National Democratic Institute (NDI), supporting the development and management of the overall M&E process of NDI’s programmes. She also has experience working on education and capacity building programmes in both operational and managerial positions and is an avid community activist and mentor, specifically on topics related to youth and women’s rights.
In her spare time Maysam enjoys watching movies, reading, listening to music, and working out.
