Wesam AlMubarak

Programmes Officer – Youth, Peace and Security

Wesam joined Generations For Peace in April 2021 as a Programmes Officer – Youth, Peace and Security. In this role, he is responsible for supporting the management of various GFP programmes within the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) and Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) thematic clusters. He also represents GFP in discussions with Delegates and Pioneers as well as current and potential donors and Local Partner Organisations on relevant programme plans and activities.

Wesam is originally from Jordan. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the Hashemite University.  

Wesam is passionate about YPS and its mission to create a more peaceful society. He has extensive professional experience related to YPS, PVE, and community engagement that spans over seven years, including working with USAID and Mercy Corps. Wesam has also participated in and led several international trainings on the topics of PVE, learning competency strategies, and best practices.

Wesam is passionate about speech and debate and enjoys having conversations and meeting new people. In his spare time, he likes to partake in outdoor activities, including hiking, playing football, and gardening.
