Programmes: Empowerment For Peace, Sport For Peace for Children

In 2012, Generations For Peace began implementing programmes in Palestine. Activities started in the form of Empowerment For Peace and Sport For Peace Programmes, and now focus primarily on Sport for Peace activities for students facing violence in schools throughout Jenin and Tulkarm governorates.

School violence is a widespread phenomenon in Palestine and has seen an increase in recent years, with physical, verbal, and psychological violence being the most common forms. Such violence stems from many challenges, including difference in social class or student nationality and ethnicity. Generations For Peace engages youth to mitigate the negative effects of violent conflict on their academic performance and to create a safe space for students to interact with each other through sport-based activities, promoting the concept of active tolerance.
